How do we get to Ha Giang?
If you’re traveling from outside Vietnam, you’ll first need to arrive in a major city like Hanoi. From there, the most popular and convenient way to reach Ha Giang is by bus. If you’re coming from Sapa, Cat Ba, Ha Long, or Ninh Binh, we recommend traveling directly to Ha Giang rather than returning to Hanoi, saving you time and effort. Please contact us in advance for the best transportation arrangements—we’re happy to assist!

Can I drive myself?
If you are not an experienced driver, I would advise you to not drive yourself. The loop is very dangerous and chaotic. If you are an experienced rider (and hold an international drivers permit) you can of course drive the loop yourself. If you dont have the proper license you can still drive yourself but you risk getting fined and risk the many other consequences

We recommend traveling light for the Ha Giang Loop, as you’ll be riding a motorbike. A small backpack (10-20L) is ideal for carrying essentials over the 3-4 day journey. If you have a suitcase or a large backpack, don’t worry! You can store it safely at our office before starting the tour. For the best experience, pack only the necessities—comfortable clothing, personal items, and travel essentials. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Can you book our return tickets?
Yes, and there are many buses leaving Ha Giang after when we get back on the last day. You just need to tell us at least a day in advance.
Do you have vegan options?
Yes, we do arrange. You should note on your booking or let us know so we can orrange alternative meals and take care you better during the loop.
Where will I sleep the night before the loop?
The bus will bring you to our hotel where you will spend the night before starting the loop.
Do I Need to Tip My Driver or Guide in Ha Giang?
Tipping is not mandatory in Vietnam, but it is greatly appreciated, especially for drivers and guides who provide excellent service. When Should You Tip?
✔ If your guide/driver goes above and beyond (e.g., helps with luggage, takes great photos, or ensures your safety on tricky roads).
✔ If you had an amazing experience and want to show appreciation.
✔ At the end of the trip, hand it to them personally with a smile—it will mean a lot!
While tipping isn’t expected, it’s a great way to support the local community and encourage quality service.
